UNDATED (AP) - The cost of filling up your gas tank has hit a
new record. Average prices at the pump are at a new high of almost
$3.23 a gallon.
According to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, the
average national price of a gallon of gas rose half a cent
overnight to $3.2272. That is slightly higher than the previous
record of $3.2265 a gallon, set last May.
According to AAA-Alabama's web site, the average cost of regular
unleaded is almost $3.17 a gallon in Alabama, $3.29 in Florida and $3.15 in Mississippi.
Gas is also at an all-time high in Mobile ($3.18), Pensacola ($3.23) and Pascagoula ($3.20)
Gas prices are following crude oil futures into record
territory. Oil climbed to a new record price of just under $110 a
barrel this morning.
Analysts are not convinced that the huge runup in oil prices has
run its course.

its our own governements fault gas is so high. if they didnt spend trillions of dollars a year, and keep flooding the market with dollars than maybe the dollar wouldnt be so worthless and it would buy more oil. instead, we keep extending credit, living beyong our means, and push the blame on opec and exxon. it’s not the oil companies fault, it’s not opecs fault, its the bush administration and their outrageous spending that has our economy in this mess.

Instead of Congress wasting time (- holding hearings on Baseball and football and letting the Boeing people act like a bunch of children - ) They need to be trying to figure out a way for us as a country to quit being so oil driven.  I really believe if we could quite using Oil it would change alot of the problems we are having.  Just think all of the people in the Middle that depend on money from Oil would become very poor.  Iran and so forth ...............The price of gas is going to really push us into a reccession.
