Pennsylvania family's fish fillets last month were harmless
over-the-counter herbal supplements.
Gorton's Inc. spokesman Jud Reis says the incident remains an
isolated case and federal authorities continue their investigation.
Gorton's says the woman and her children sought medical
attention but weren't sickened.
As a precaution, the Gloucester, Mass.-based company has
recalled about 1,000 cases of its 6 Crispy Battered Fish Fillets in
11 states, including Alabama, Florida & Mississippi.
Reis says the voluntary recall has harmed the company's
business, but it's hard to say how much.
Gorton's 6 Crispy Battered Fish Fillets, 11.4 oz., UPC #4440015770, Date code: 7289G1, Best if used by date: April 2009.
