NEW YORK (AP) - Wanna buy an iPhone with no strings attached?

You can, starting next week. But while there are no strings attached, there is cost attached. AT&T says it will sell the
iPhones without making customers hook themselves up with a two-year contract.

But the iPhones will cost $400 more than those sold without the contracts. A spokesman says AT&T will start selling the
phones next Thursday. The one with the lower memory capacity will go for $599, the one with higher memory capability will be $699.
With the two-year marriage, the cost will be $199 and $299.

The phone company had said back in July that it would start selling contract-free phones in the U.S., as it does in some other lands.

Or you can sign a contract and get one for $199 or $299, then pay the $175 early termination fee, and still come out with one for $374 or $474 instead of $599 or $699.

As with most everything made in America, you can get a friend in another country to buy it for you, for much less than what it cost here!
