Mississippi wants state licensed real estate agents to inform home buyers whether or not their house had been used as a methamphetamine lab. New Meth Lab Disclosure

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The state of Mississippi is taking steps
to insure that home buyers know whether or not their house had been
used as a methamphetamine lab.
The Mississippi Real Estate Commission is requiring that
information to be part of the property condition disclosure
statement.
Commission Chairman Mark Cumbest says adding it to the seller's
disclosure form is the right thing to do.
However, Cumbest says the disclosure only applies to sellers
using a state licensed real estate agent. Otherwise, home buyers
are on their own.
The other new disclosures include informing buyers if any part
of the property is designated as a wetlands area, and if the
property is located in a public improvement district. That could
subject the new owners to additional taxes.
