Report, Alabama's average for a gallon of regular unleaded hit
$3.70 today while the national average climbed to $3.79.
According to AAA's survey of Alabama's metro areas, the lowest
gas prices were found in Birmingham, which averages $3.69 per
gallon of regular. Mobile and Huntsville were tied for the highest
average price for regular at $3.72 a gallon.
Drivers in parts of California, Alaska, Connecticut and Chicago
are paying $4 or more for a gallon of regular unleaded.

any monoply you will have high prices no competition look at the telephone companies when the telephone company was made to split and have competition prices came down cell phone companies are fighting for your business but the energy companies have no competition so no matter how much you conserve no matter how green you go prices will continue to climb

Cost me 60 bucks to fill-up my truck this morning.  grrrrrrrr

I would love to give my home an energy makeover, but the costs can be outrageous.  However, with the way things are looking with the cost of gas and all the double talk in the presidential primaries, I’m thinkin’ it is time for a cabin in the woods, with a nice garden and lots of canned goods.

The future ain’t lookin’ all that bright and this whole presidential primary season has unnerved me.

Yes mam, At this point I couldn’t do it or rather have it done, too expensive for me,but for all of our young people out there ,now is the time to teach them to be just as independent as they can be from other countries and industries. We do have enough oil but lack the refining capacity to make the needed fuels. If the lack of refineries is deliberate or not I can not say for a fact, but I think it was planned ,to keep the price up. Something similar to dairy products.I think I qualify for that elderly group and fixed income but I still try to be as independent as I can and do most every thing on my own. I like being independent and try to do a little something every day around the house to be more independent of the oil, power, insurance and other industries. We gotta start somewhere if we are going to be self-reliant.

carl how much is that complete home make over now get real do you think a lot of elderly on limited incomes are going to be able to have that luxury i know for a fact its not cheap and get ready for those higher taxes to make up for social services because most people cant afford green heating and cooling or to go out and buy a new vehicle why should they we have plenty of oil right here in the good ole usa

YEP! I’ve been checking into that also and you can get some pretty good Geo units for a little bit more than conventional heating and cooling units .Besides saving a pocket full of money every month, since just about all of the unit except the pipes, are in the house they estimate they will last two to three times as long as conventional units. Don’t you just wish you could do a complete make over on your home.

well you better make that canada also because we import 60 percent of oil from canada the rest is the middle east and mexico and even some from the united states lol thanks to the green wackos and while everyone is getting the gas savers remember to turn in the home heating and cooling unit for a box fan and wood burning stove

Matter of fact I just did a search for the vehicles with the best gas mileage.  The Honda Insight list 60 city and 66 hwy.

I did see that Tesla Roadster.  Looks good but wasn’t the sticker price around $250,000?  That’s a little out of my range! lol

It’s way pass ridiculous for me BAMABOB, you about ready to park that mustang and hop a bike? They have a good selection of electric bikes too. Did you by any chance see the electric car called TELSA? 225 miles to a charge but way too fancy and pricey for my blood, but if they went to production lines like the other big car companies the price ought to get right.Imagine go the same distance at one tenth the cost of gas. The way gas prices are going you would have it paid for in one tenth of the time too. The oil industries know we’re nearing a turning point in our petroleum consumption and they are going to get all they can. It’s time they start draining CHINA and a few other large users.
