SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Dole Food company has issued a recall ofbagged salad that may have been sold in parts of Mississippi.
The recall comes after a sample tested positive for E. Coli, but
the company says it has received no reports of illness.
The voluntary recall affects all packages of Dole's Hearts
Delight salad mix sold in the United States and Canada. The
packages in question have a "best if used by" date of September
19, 2007, and a production code of "A24924A" or "A24924B."
The product was also sold in parts of Canada, and the states of
Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, Virginia, New York, Ohio,
Pennsylvania, Tennessee and neighboring U.S. states.
A company spokesman says the romaine, green leaf and butter
lettuce hearts in the blend were grown in California, Colorado and
Ohio. They were processed at a Dole's plant in Ohio.
Consumers can call the Dole Consumer Center toll-free at 800.356.3111.
