WASHINGTON (AP) - J.C. Penney Corp. on Tuesday recalled about24,000 pairs of Arizona-brand jeans for newborns and infants
because of a metal snap that can detach and be swallowed.
The company said the snap posed a choking hazard. No injuries
have been reported.
The recalled pants were sold in sizes of 0-3 months, 3-6 months
and 6-9 months from July to October for about $15.
The recall included only those pants that were made in
Bangladesh, not ones made in China. The recall was done in
cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, but
J.C. Penney said the recall was voluntary.
A label sewn on the waistband has the country of origin.
The company said it would give a full refund for pants that are
returned. Consumers with questions should call (888) 333-6063.
