PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding inPascagoula has been awarded two contracts from the U.S. Navy worth
$84.9 million.
A $76.6 million contract awarded this week calls for the
Pascagoula facility to put together material kits to be sent to two
destroyers' homeports and provide design information for
maintenance and modernization projects.
Maintenance and modification work on these ships, which have
both been decommissioned, is expected to be completed by September
2009.
A second deal, an $8.2 million Office of Naval Research
contract, calls for Northrop to provide material verification and
detailed design for integrating antennas into naval platforms.
The research work is expected to be completed by February 2011.
