John and Linda Robinson live in Saraland.
They told News Five that they had to sell one of their cars because they couldn't afford to pay for gas and the insurance.
They say because of the high gas prices, they only travel within three miles from their home.
When they do fill up their car, they have to make sure the gas will last a month.
"We have to stay home and most of the time the car stay's parked right where it's at. I limit the times that I have to go to the grocery store and I go to church and just to the doctor's and that's about the only trips that we make," said Linda Robinson of Saraland.
Gas prices across Alabama hit another high Thursday morning - rising to $3.93 a gallon.
