BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Oil prices retreated today after closingabove $100 a barrel for the first time as investors seized on a
refinery explosion and the possibility that OPEC may cut its
output. It pushed gasoline prices up more than two cents on average
in Alabama today.
Triple A Alabama reports the price for regular unleaded now
averages $3.00 a gallon across the state. A look at metro averages
show Mobile with the highest average at $3.03 while Birmingham has
the lowest average at $2.99 a gallon.
News 5 found a gas station in Foley where the price of gas jumped 15-cents overnight.
The national average for regular is also $3.00 a gallon.
