Florida Unemployment Hits 13 Year High

Another indication of the gloomy economy in the Sunshine State -- 606,000 Floridians are out of work. Florida Unemployment Hits 13 Year High

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida's unemployment rate is at its
highest level in more than 13 years, rising again in August to 6.5
percent.
That means 606,000 employable Floridians don't have a job. The
unemployment rate is up 0.3 points from the month before and is at
its highest level since January, 1995.
Florida unemployment is also above the national rate of 6.1
percent, and 2.3 points higher than it was a year ago.
