front-loading Easy-Bake Oven, there's a recall that could affect
you.
The U-S Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the
voluntary recall of about one (m) million Easy-Bake Ovens. The
recalled item is made of purple and pink plastic. It resembles a
kitchen range with four burners on top and a front-loading oven.
Ovens that were sold before May of 2006 aren't included in the
recall.
Consumer Product Safety Commission spokeswoman Julie Vallese
(vuh-LEES') says there have been some 250 reports of children
getting their fingers caught in the oven, with 77 reports of burns.
Sixteen of those burns were third-degree.
Vallese says there was one report of a partial-finger amputation
because of a serious burn.
Consumers can call Easy-Bake for instructions on how to return
the toy oven for a voucher toward the purchase of another Hasbro
product.
