ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The Walt Disney Co. has announced plans tocombine back-office operations for Walt Disney World and Disneyland
and eliminate an unknown number of jobs.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo sent a memo to
employees Wednesday, explaining that plans to streamline the
company's corporate structure have been accelerated because of the
country's troubled economy.
Disney employs about 62,000 people in central Florida. The
company has not said how many jobs will be eliminated.
