LOS ANGELES, California - LOS ANGELES (AP) - The cleanup is under way in Los Angeles, where a burst water main sent a deluge of water through streets in
Studio City overnight.
The flood swept cars away and forced people out of their homes
-- and left Ventura Boulevard under water.
The water was shut off after about four hours. But there's still
mud and broken asphalt to clear away today. Officials say part of
Ventura Boulevard will be closed for at least two days.
No injuries were reported.
The water main that broke is part of the city's original water
system from 95 years ago. A spokeswoman for the Department of Water
and Power says it had been slated for repair.
