Crews repaired a ruptured water line that opened up a sinkhole in San Diego, California, Thursday (11/6).Water from a broken 16-inch underground pipe made a muddy mess for residents Wednesday (11/5) afternoon.
Several homes were flooded and a number of residents were forced to evacuate.
The sinkhole also swallowed a car.
Shortly after the flooding began, an unoccupied sedan parked near the failed pipe slid front-end first into a resulting sinkhole. No one was hurt when the vehicle went into the hole.
The pipe was repaired shortly before 5 a-m Thursday (11/6) morning but it took crews several more hours to repair the roadway and clean up the area.
