SAN DIEGO, CA (AP) - A speed boat driver escaped a high-speed death.
Racer Mark Workentine threw the engine to full throttle and just seconds later, his boat was destroyed!
The crash in San Diego was caught on tape. The boat hit a speed of 145 miles-per-hour on Friday before spiraling out of control.
Amazingly, Workentine swam away with just a few scrapes.
He was practicing for a hydro-plane race in San Diego. He was inside a capsule and that is what saved his life.
