SAN DIEGO, CA (AP) - A speed boat driver escaped a high-speed death.Racer Mark Workentine threw the engine to full throttle and just seconds later, his boat was destroyed!
The crash in San Diego was caught on tape. The boat hit a speed of 145 miles-per-hour on Friday before spiraling out of control.
Amazingly, Workentine swam away with just a few scrapes.
He was practicing for a hydro-plane race in San Diego. He was inside a capsule and that is what saved his life.
