William Koier got lost in a wooded area behind his home in Elsanor Thursday night. Mr. Koier was reunited with his wife and family after missing for more than five hours. Koier was located with the help of a "Project Lifesaver" locator on his wrist. Baldwin County Sheriff, Hoss Mack, says "had it not been for the monitoring device that he was wearing tonight, we would not have been able to locate him as quickly as we did, if at all." Project Lifesaver is a free service offered by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office that uses high-tech equipment to locate missing Alzheimer's patients. The patient is outfitted with a computerized wrist monitor that can be tracked from miles away.
