MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted the ownerand pharmacists of a Mobile-based pharmacy accused in a steroid
distribution scheme in at least 10 states.
The indictment against 12 individuals, including the owner of
Applied Pharmacy Services Inc., was unsealed Thursday as the
defendants faced an initial hearing in U.S. District Court in
Mobile.
The indictments are the latest development in a long-term
investigation into the distribution of anabolic steroids to
doctors, gyms, health clubs and workout facilities nationwide.
Some doctors were charged in the early phases of the
investigation.
