Victoria Jones of Pensacola was critcally injured in a Sunday evening accident in the 14000 block of Perdido Key Drive in Escambia County, Florida. Her 2003 Chevrolet was rear ended by Jack Thornton, also of Pensacola, just after 10pm. Thornton received minor injuries. Florida Highway Patrol says that Thornton's 2003 Lexus was found about one mile from the scene of the accident abandoned. He was later arrested by Alabama authorities on unrelated charges and taken to a Baldwin County hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the accident. He'll be booked into the Baldwin County Jail. Jones was taken to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
