Traffic Fatality on Dauphin Island Parkway"At approximately 5:30 A.M. this morning, Officers from the Mobile Police Department First Precinct Patrol Division responded to a report of one struck by a vehicle in the area of Dauphin Island Parkway near B.C. Rain High School.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a pedestrian only identified at this time as a white female, had been struck and killed by a vehicle. Members of the Mobile Police Department’s Traffic Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
Preliminary findings reveal that the driver of the vehicle; silver Chrysler PT Cruiser, was traveling northbound on Dauphin Island Parkway as the victim was crossing the street in an east-west direction while it was still dark. The driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, fatally injuring her.
Investigation into this case remains continuous. The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time upon notification family members."
