Police have charged a Mobile woman with the murder of her husband. His remains were found Tuesday morning buried in their back yard.

According to police, 58-year-old Sandra Hocutt killed her husband Daniel Hocutt three years ago. They have not said who buried his body, but police and archaeologists from the University of West Florida spent most of the day at the couple's home on Vaughn Drive North, near Dog River, excavating the remains.

Police arrested Sandra Hocutt around 9:00 Tuesday night. She's being held in Mobile Metro Jail.

He had no family? Sad What money will do to people!

She will more likely get charged for cashing his VA checks too that she has been receiving for two years.  I understand not having money to bury him with but I just can’t see taking someone’s $$ that I not legally entitled to.  I believe (from the sounds of things) they were common law so she wouldn’t have receive any of his death benefits from the military.

All she has to do is claim he beat her. Case closed.

This is an interesting story.  Can’t wait to see how it plays out.  Sad.

Must have died of natural causes and no one could afford to bury him,but needed that check every month to make ends meet, you think

Probably right after he paid the house off that year(according to court records).  This is really sad that nobody misses you for 2 years.

Hadn’t been seen for two years?  This sounds like it is going to be a sad story.
