Washington County Jail Escapee Arrested In Mobile

Escape Washington County Sheriffs Office  The Washington County Sheriff's Office is still looking for his accomplice Billy Turner.

- Police have arrested David Gurley on Lott Road in Mobile.
- Billy Turner, the man investigators believe helped Gurley escape, is still on the run.

Tuesday 10:25 a.m.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office is looking for an escaped inmate and his alleged accomplice.

Sheriff Richard Stringer tells News 5 David Gurley escaped from a work release program on Monday. Gurley asked to go to the bathroom and ran off into the woods.

Stringer says Billy Turner was waiting in the woods on a stolen ATV.

Gurley's wife bonded Turner out of jail last week. Stringer says Courtney Gurley paid Turner's bond after he agreed to help her husband escape.

Deputies have arrested Courtney Gurley. They believe Turner and her husband are still in Washington County.
