Wolf Bay Lodge is still drawing a crowd. "A steady flow of traffic, there's a lot of people coming through here community people a lot of customers," says 30 year employee Karen Keith. An attic fire early Sunday morning burned the landmark restaurant to the ground.
Ralph Smith had to see for himself what had happened to one of his favorite places. "It ain't the food as much as the personnel. The personnel made the food."
What had taken a lifetime to build, the fire destroyed in a matter of hours but already the owners and the people who work here are talking about moving forward.
"We're going to keep our feet firmly planted and Wolf Bay Lodge will come back," says co-owner Charlene Haber. She says the work has already begun, "We're working with the insurance company looking for possibilities to relocate. We're trying to get employees on unemployment and there are many possibilities. We have had many calls to relocate."
It's not a question of if they'll be back, just a question of when.
An employee relief fund has been set up for the 55 employees. Donations are being accepted at any branch of Visions Bank.
