A loud noise caused quite a stir in West Mobile Tuesday. Many of you called News 5 wanting to know what it was, so we investigated. Turns out, the noise was coming from the Southeast Supply Header natural gas pipeline on Airport Boulevard. A supervisor says they were releasing gas as part of maintenance work and no one was in danger. One neighbor says he thought a tornado might be coming,"I mean I know the weather didn't match what a tornado would go through, but, I mean, you never know, you hear a noise like that and something abnormal you definitely want to get, I guess your house is a comfort zone, so, we tried to get in the house and try to figure out what's going on from the inside out, "said neighbor Kevin Brensinger. The supervisor we spoke with says they'll be done with the work by Tuesday night and neighbors won't be hearing the loud noise anymore.
