MOBILE, Alabama - Despite a soggy Sunday, crowds of people piled through downtown for the last day of Bayfest on 10/4/09.

“Last year was a record breaking year for us so it's looking like this year will be a record breaking year as well,” says marketing director Mary Lee McCrory. Unfortunately the rain on the last day probably slowed some people down a little bit. Still a lot of vendors are trying to squeeze all they can out of the festival. Rita Jamar says her lemonade stand is doing almost as well as last year

“Business has been good over the last couple of days but today of course the rain has dampened but it's still good, people are on their way out,” says Jamar. Across the way at a t-shirt stand--workers say they were able to sell more than $30,000 worth of merchandise in the last two days. Businesses just outside the Bayfest boundary also seem to be feeling some of the residual boost. Serda's coffee house has seen an additional 400 people a day thanks to the concerts.
