JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - State health officials say Mississippi has
recorded its first death related to the West Nile virus of the
year.
The Mississippi State Department of Health said the victim was a
resident of Forrest County. No additional information, including
the person's name, has been made public.
MSDH officials also report two additional human cases of the
mosquito-transmitted virus, bringing the state's total number for
the year to 17. The new cases are in Forrest and Neshoba counties.
The health agency reports both confirmed and probable cases to
the public.
The Board of Animal Health has also notified MSDH of one
additional case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis, a mosquito-borne
illness that can affect humans, in a horse in Stone County.

I wonder if the horse’s blood could be used as a vaccine for humans as it has been in the past for other diseases ? Very good point RMseek1234.

It would seem that since this is a threat, people could get vaccinated. I vaccinate my horses for this, so why not have a human vaccine too?

You stand a very good chance of getting over the West Nile Virus but the triple E scares me. I believe if the conditions were right the triple E could become a deadly epidemic.
