News 5 - Five Florida teenagers are behind bars after police say they doused a 15-year-old with rubbing alcohol and set him on fire.
Officers say the teen was attacked because he stopped someone from stealing his father's bicycle.
The victim received burns on more than 80-percent of his body.
The teenage suspects range in age from 13 to 15.
Last month, four teenagers were arrested and charged with murder in the beating death of a Chicago teenager.
16-year-old Derrion Albert was walking home from school when he got caught in the middle of a fight between two neighborhoods.
Police say a group of teens kicked and struck him with splintered railroad ties.
In Mobile County, a 17-year-old from Theodore is facing murder charges.
Police say last month, Markus Lee shot and killed his cousin Blake Davis.
The shooting happened at a park on Diamond Road in Theodore as Davis tried to break up a fight.
Davis died at the hospital.

Some people can't believe teenagers are behaving this way. Mobile Juvenile Judge Edmund Naman recently told News Five: "Gun violence and gun crime alarm me to the point where it's hard to sleep at night some time."

Bringing back spanking at school would probably bring a rapid explosion in the adult education programs.LOL

Bring back spanking and prayer at home and at school!!!

Mandatory military service for 2 years. All have boot camps prior to service in the units, and after 2 years of service we would have much less of this type of thing occuring with our youth. JMO

Hey Razorsharp…..I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.

What if the puishment fit the crime? For example, the kids in this situation, would be doused with alcohol, and then lit on fire as well. Perhaps letting them recieve burns to 80% of their bodies, and then putting the fire out. Letting them expierience the terror of knowing what is to come…the sick feeling of hearing that match light…the unbelieveable searing pain of their skin burning and the horrid stench. Then the real pain begins. The countless hours in the ICU burn unit. The unrelenting pain that even air causes to your skin. The knowledge that you will be disfigured for the rest of your life and treated like an outcast. Yes, perhaps if we instituted this type of punishment, then maybe individuals who commit these types of heinous crimes would stop and think twice knowing that they could face the same fate as their victims. Barbaric? Yes…absolutely. But we are dealing with barbaric criminals that act like animals and should be treated like animals. Fighting fire with fire never rang so true. No amount of jail time or rehabilitation wil EVER be enough to make these criminals understand what they have done to and taken away from this child.

These kids just need a bullet between the eyes…nothing more..nothing less. No excuses…no reasons why….just kill them. Dont even waste the taxpayers money or time. If anyone objects….maybe you would like to invite them into your home and give them some love..or let them move in beside you so that you could take some time with them.

I feel this has alot to do with the way things have changed over the last 20 -30 years or so, kids being able to cry out child abuse, scaring their parents into letting them get away with whatever they want, then again, you have the so called parents who really don’t care what their kids do, as long as they stay out of their hair.
Parents shoudl be held accountable to some degree, especially if they are letting their kids run the streets.  God help our Kids & the Future of this Once Great Nation

yea, go see your local judge. he’ll whip you in shape.

I think there are some great programs out there to help “at-risk” kids…but really, we need to look at the “at-risk” parents too. Teen moms and dads have a chance to learn good parenting skills, through some of these programs. Things they may not have learned from example. But,what about the others? At risk youth have the Boys and Girls Club, the LEO’s have various programs, etc. But until you change the WHOLE mentality, from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents-then nothing will change. The whole “you owe me” mentality,or “it is my RIGHT,” mentality will be the death of society. Just my 2cents…

Some of these kids are acting just like their parents. The juvenile laws are to soft. These kids know that know matter what they aren’t going to do any hard time. If you lock the parents up then what does that do but leave the children alone. I ask the Judges to be harder on repeat offenders. If they come in front of you more than once then do whatever you have to do to make sure you won’t see them again. Put them away until they are adults and unseal their criminal records.
Juvenile records should no longer be kept from the public. These kids are performing unthinkable crimes, let them know that the rest of us are going to know who they are, and thier actions will follow them the rest of their lives.
