(AP) A Wal-Mart employee in Mississippi is accused of rolling back prices _ way back _ on about $550 worth of merchandise.
Natchez Police say 20-year-old Erica Marie Jones was arrested Thursday and charged with theft, along with 22-year-old customer Tiffany Williams.
Police say Jones charged Williams $5.25 for a load of merchandise that included seven pairs of jeans, a baby crib, laundry detergent, diapers, pizza, coffee and beef.
The actual total of the haul would have been $547.50.
The two women were being held Friday without bond pending court appearances. It was not immediately known if they had retained attorneys.

Section 13A-8-5
Theft of property in the third degree.

(a) The theft of property which does not exceed five hundred dollars ($500) in value and which is not taken from the person of another constitutes theft of property in the third degree.

(b) Theft of property in the third degree is a Class A misdemeanor.

I’m pretty sure it is probably $250there too, in which case $535.25 still exceeds $250, thus still making it a felony charge.

Is the amount that high in MS? In Alabama it’s only $250 for felony theft.

dumb felons at that. to try that at walmarts they were crazy.  walmarts will make sure they get the max.

$540.50 - 5.25 = 535.25 which equals a FELONY! Yep, they are in big trouble now!!!!!
