Jury Finds Eric Buzbee Not Guilty

BAY MINETTE, Alabama - 1:32 p.m.
- Jury finds Eric Buzbee not guilty on 2 counts of capital murder for the 2007 death of Spanish Fort service station owner Bobby Wilson.
- After the verdict was read, Buzbee broke down in tears and hugged his attorney. His family also cried.
- Wilson's family was ushered out a back door of the courthouse.
- News 5's Pat Peterson will have reaction tonight on News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00.

The jury in the Eric Buzbee murder trial is now deliberating.

Buzbee is accused of killing popular Spanish Fort business owner Bobby Wilson on August 11, 2007. Wilson was beaten and robbed at his Texaco Service Station on Highway 31. He died December 28th from his injuries.

The first two cases ended in mistrials. We'll let you know as soon as a verdict is reached.

If you went to trial during the month of October in Mobile or Baldwin County, you received treats rather than tricks. What a wonderful Judicial System we have!!!!

That D.A. sure has a bad case of tunnel vision. Why is she so convinced he did it and three juries have had such doubt? Anyone know?

If you are white you are wright. The same people who are bashing Judge Thomas is praising this guy. I don’t know anything about this case, howeve I am happy he was found not guilty if they did not have conclusive evidence.

Being a close personal friend of Mr. Buzbee and the family, i realize that i have somewhat of a biassed opinion. However, having been at the trials, and having seen that there was not one single shred of physical evidence linking Eric to this crime, even furthered my confidence that Mr. Buzbee was absolutely innocent. Law Enforcement and the prosecution were under such pressure to solve this case that not only did they accuse and lock up the wrong person, but made deals with people for certain testimony, and tried an innocent man 3 times for a crime that even to a child was blatently obvious that he did not commit!! We are very excited about eric being acquitted of all charges against him and are ready to see him and the family get on with their lives. Even having been found not guilty, this has been the very most absolute and unequivical mis-justice in the history of, and at the very least, Baldwin County!!

I was a juror on the original trial and I knew then that he was not guilty. There was not enough evidence to convince me that he did. I have followed this case closely since the end of the first trial because I knew he didn’t do it.

The DA’s office made all kinds of deals with drug dealers and other criminals for their testimony. I am truly glad that he has been found not guilty on all charges.

After seeing the Herman Thomas verdict, your really think just because he was found not guilty means he didn’t do it….now that’s funny.

There we’re other suspects in the beginning. I’m glad he is free, should have never been there…DNA cleared him from the beginning but they needed someone?

Well if they got the wrong guy they to go back over the case and find out who did
