Mobile Police are asking for your help to solve car burglaries. They say there have been at least four vehicle burglaries this week in west Mobile in the areas of Lakeview Drive and Lakeview Drive West.
Mobile Police said the same car was seen leaving the area after those burglaries.
Police Officer Christopher Levy said, "The description was given out as possibly two white males."
In a surveillance video, Levy said, "We have a vehicle that is clearly trying to get away by pushing open the exit gate by not waiting for it to open."
Police aren't revealing how the burglars broke into the vehicles, but say they stole "some wallets, cash, some fishing equipment and other miscellaneous items."
Joe Hanna lives on Lakeview Drive West and said he's heard about crime in his neighborhood.
Hanna said, "I've had a couple of my neighbors tell me that their car had gotten broken into, and I do know that we had a house broken into. I also know that we had somebody walk through a neighborhood and stole something right off somebody's porch."
Hanna's neighbors said one factor that might contribute to the burglaries is traffic.
Barbara McCusker, said, "A lot of people are cutting through here to get off of Airport Boulevard, to get around to Schillinger Road, and the traffic has gotten heavier."
David Byrd also lives in the neighborhood.
He said, "Wal-Mart and Home Depot are over here on Schillinger Road and, then, of course, Cody Road is right here, so they don't want to go around the red lights and all that, so its the known short cut."
Police believe the same person committed all the vehicle burglaries.
If you have any clues, call the Mobile Police Department at 208-7211 or Crimestoppers.
