MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The University of South Alabama is warily
anticipating a $10 million budget deficit in the new fiscal year
despite a tuition increase and record enrollment.
President Gordon Moulton says the university would dip into its
reserves to cover the shortfall, which is its largest ever.
USA has about $174 million in reserve.
The $677 million budget for 2009-10 reflects a revenue increase
of $9 million in tuition and fees. But there's still a projected
$13.7 million loss - 11.3 percent - in appropriations from the
state. The new fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
A year ago, the school limited overtime, stopped paying for
employee cell phones and instituted a hiring freeze for staff
positions. As a result, 250 positions have remained unfilled.

Nice way to put it. Someone is going to complain, no matter what(wanting housing for 1/3 the going rate). Looks like family packs of four tickets were offered for $240. CHEAP entertainment! If you don’t want to park around Ladd, ride the tram from the mall.

Go JAGS!

1st come, first serve?  It’s a college football game. Give me a break…..

It’s one of the laws of world, “doesn’t matter where you go, what you do, how you do it, how much you do it, someone is going to complain about it… and yes I changed the word to complain instead of my first knee jerk reaction.

For crying out loud…..

Season tickets are offered to the public. People who made a commitment to financial support and season ticket purchases got priority and benefits. You can STILL purchase season tickets on either side with some advantages to each. STUDENTS have their sections and BAND has theirs. What more do you want?

I plan to “repay” the advertisers and supporters by patronizing their stores. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT businesses.

We purchased extra tickets so that our friends and family could share in the fun. We made a three year commitment to support SOUTH. It’s the least we could do.

SOUTH IN YOUR MOUTH!

CMB, if you want good tickets, ask a South student….You won’t catch me parking my car in/around Ladd-Peebles, so I’d be more than happy to get your tickets for you!

end zone…

Too bad they want sell anything but in zone tickets to the public. I know alot of people who would have gone to the game but they would only sell in zone tickets and they didn’t want to sit in the inzone? It ought to be 1st come 1st serve…

GROSS MISUSE OF FUNDS.  SO much waste

Too bad the USA Foundation won’t let go of their stranglehold on money raised through the UNIVERSITY?

They missed out on around $1.3 million dollars of revenue from renting out Hillsdale houses.

employee cell phones? Just think USA when Obama makes everyone have health insurance just how rich you will be! Because you want have to treat people that have no insurance. Then you will be getting paid. LOL
