MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Attorney General Troy King sayshe will run for re-election in 2010.
King says he has received lots of encouragement to consider the
governor's race. But he says he has more work to do as attorney
general to keep a promise he made when he got that job in 2004.
That promise was to make Alabama a safer place to live.
King made his announcement Thursday evening in Birmingham while
speaking to a Republican group.
King's announcement comes two days after news reports that a
federal grand jury had questioned some of his former employees.
King says that has no effect on his resolve to win another term as
attorney general.
