Train Vs Car: Two People Dead

Alabama Washington County  According to a witness the driver never saw the train until the car was on the tracks.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the driver and front seat passenger were killed. The back seat passenger was taken to USA Medical Center.

Sheriff Richard Stringer says a witness told deputies the driver was not looking and did not see the train until they were already on the tracks.

Rescue crews in Washington County are on the scene of a deadly accident involving a train and a car. The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. in the community of Malcolm on Bates Lake Road (off Hwy 43) - about 3 miles north of the Thyssenkrupp Steel Mill.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office tells News 5 that two people have been killed. A third person was injured and transported by Life Flight to USA Medical Center in Mobile.

Sad situation here! When you come up tracks you must not assume nothing is coming. Broad daylight you shouldn’t miss it and the train surely sounds its horn.  My heart goes out to these family members!
