Debbie Tewell has waited as patiently as she could for the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Foley to re-open.

"The prices are just fantastic," says Tewell. "They're just out of this world! I'm just so happy it's re-opened. I usually come up here once a week but now with all the new stuff I'll probably be up here twice a week."

Fire damaged the thrift store in April of last year, forcing the non-profit organization to shut down. 15 months later, the popular store is finally back up and running...great news for families doing whatever they can to save a few bucks and ride out the recession.

"People are looking to save money and this is a good way to do that," says Major Ted Morris with the Salvation Army. "Possibly pennies on the dollar."

The thrift store has always been a hit with bargain hunters and penny pinchers. And, until the economy rebounds, the store will likely continue to be one of South Baldwin County's most popular retail attractions.
