ok folks… what happened to Bob had nothing to do with his daughter…it had everything to do with his son… the son that he loved… and no one knows why it happened except his son and the others that were there and involved.. the answers will come out in a trial or sentencing or whatever.. stop speculating and stop the rumors… no person should have to go through what he did that horrible morning… makes me sick to think of what they did to him… and he had no defense..

Having known Bob since he was 16, he was a gentle soul, who never hurt anyone a day in his life.I’m so tired of reading trash like I just read in here. Krickkett, get a life. You are nothing more than a gossip monger. If you weren’t so ignorant of the law you would have known that Child protective services would have taken children away if they had any evidence or seriously suspected. I know, I have a relative that works for the agency for over 25 yrs.It’s called innocent until proven guilty for a reason.You obviously, never made it a point to know the parents of your children’s friends.If you had, you would have known Bob’s character. What type of parent does that make you? It could be construed as a bad one. I’m not saying you are, just trying to make a point. So please for the sake of us that are grieving and looking for answers in this heinous crime, stop your your rumor mill, you’re hurting other people with your blasphemies.

People need to do some soul-searching. Someone starts their post with something to the effect of: “I’m not one to spread rumors or innuendo, but I heard that…”, and then proceeds to perpetuate the kind of rumors they claim THEY’RE not one to spread. (People like this often end these gems-of-thought with words such as: “I’m just SAYIN’..”)

I grew up with Bob, and we’ve been in and out of each-other’s lives for well over 40 years. He was a unique man who lived his life on his own terms, although admittedly I didn’t always “get” his terms. I DO know that he loved his kids, and Ian was the apple of his eye. (There’s a FACT for you.)Bob was a giving, caring, loving human being, and anyone who knew him knows this. I miss him. I thought we’d have more time. I feel a profound loss.

There was a Memorial last Sunday. It was a packed house full of people whose lives Bob touched over the years. This should tell you something of his Character.

I hope he has found peace. I loved him.

Very few of us are perfect fathers, or perfect in any other way as far as that goes.  How does spreading rumors about this dead man change any of the facts as we know them?  And, why should you or anyone else care about how his friends and family feel about the guy?

Would you like for someone to show up at your funeral and tell everyone to get over it because rumor had it you were not all that nice?

I just don’t get your point about this guy’s death at all.

It doesn’t matter what accusations are out there now about the father, there is NOTHING he could have done that deserved this type of crime. IF the accusations were to be true then where was the mother in all this, or IF it was reported to DHR then why didn’t they act on it, UNLESS they found no evidence of such accusations, but the point to all this is a man died a brutal death at the hands of 4 people that thought they could get away with it. only ONE person charged with this crime was his son, the other three were friends to the son. sounds to me like he didn’t get his way with something and decided he would kill his father but that is just my opinion. Until society starts holding kids accountable for their actions this is going to continue to happen with children. Like the bible says spare the rod spoil the child. and to me whats funny about the accusations that were made, if he wasnt molested he will be once he is inside the prison walls, some would say thats just karma.

I never said Ian was molested, get your facts straight. I said Bobbi Rose ACCUSED her father of it and that it is no secret around Robertsdale and Silverhill that it was reported to DHR by a couple of different people.
Boy how I wish they would make THOSE records public.

I agree with you Tidefan that a kid who is abused doesn’t invite friends to kill his father…he would normally act alone.

However, let me reiterate once again because people on here are missing my point: If this guy did what what he is accused of, he does not need to be made out to be a perfect father and the truth needs to come out whether it hurts or not.

I hope that News 5 looks into that matter and can get some answers.

I’m not buying into that story.  Nothing about this would indicate such a thing.  It sounds and looks like this kid was running with the wrong crowd and they were all strung out on something.  They went there with the intent of robbing the man and taking something they thought he had.

Killing him was just part of the plan.

Bob..you are right on about the perpetuation of the rumors. Another thing…kids that are sexually abused dont go out and advertise it all over school and aroung town…Would you let the world know about something as private and humiliating as that??? Especially in a SCHOOL environment??? No, you would not.

These insinuations only perpetuate the rumors and that is an injustice.

To me this all looks like an out of control kid angry over something his dad would not let him do or have.
