The State Health Department has confirmed a third case of swine flu in Mobile County.

According to the Mobile County Health Department, an 8-year-old boy test for Influenza A at a hospital emergency room. A sample was then sent to the state lab in Montgomery, which confirmed that it was the H1N1 virus. The little boy did not need to be hospitalized and is recovering at home.

Last week, a 24-year-old patient tested positive for the virus. The first case in Mobile County was a four year old earlier this month.

The State Health Department has also confirmed the first two cases in Baldwin County. The patients are ages 4 and 12 years old and health officials say they are not related.
