Sheriff's Deputies in Escambia County, Florida are trying to find whoever is responsible for stealing thirteen cars from a used car dealership in Pensacola.Deputies say it happened between Saturday evening and Monday morning at the Auto Network store at 6230 N. Palafox Street.
Many of the cars have been recovered, but they're not ready to drive.
In addition to stealing the cars, Glenn Austin with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office said, "They (the thieves) also went inside their (the dealership's) little shop where everything is kept and it was ransacked. The back door was busted in, things busted off the walls, whatever money they could grab on the counter, whatever they could find, they took everything, along with a bunch of car keys."
Deputies believe only three to five people were involved, but they worked quickly.
Austin said, "A lot of these cars were actually wrecked into poles, into fences or just driving right into a swamp somewhere."
Not only can the thieves make money selling parts, they can also sell what's left of the vehicle for scrap.
Tow Truck Driver Dave Dye said, "It wasn't that long ago, (the cars would bring in) fifty bucks, but now they're bringing upwards of $260 dollars."
Nine of the cars have been recovered, but four are still missing.
Escambia County Sheriff's Deputies say if you saw anything suspicious at the Auto Network dealership over the weekend, to call them.
