THEODORE, Alabama - Theodore High School, Nan Gray Davis Elementary and residents who live around the two schools did not have water for most of the day.Sylvia Hutto, a spokesperson for Mobile County Water & Sewer, says a contractor doing drainage work for Mobile County hit a water main at Theodore Ball Park around 11:30 a.m. Mobile County Water & Sewer shut off water service while the repair was made.
Hutto says crews had to be careful and take their time because of the type of soil in the area. The main was repaired and water service restored around 7:10 p.m. Crews will be flushing hydrants throughout the night and morning to get rid of any dirt that may have gotten into the line during repairs.
