Changes are coming to the City of Prichard. The city is teaming up with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office to house all inmates arrested in Prichard.
The Prichard jail can hold 60 inmates.
Currently, inmates charged with felonies are already housed at Mobile Metro Jail. Only people charged with misdemeanors are currently housed at Prichard.
The city says the move is not motivated by money, but some costs will be cut. Sheriff Sam Cochran may use the facility in the future to house overflow inmates from Mobile Metro Jail. Minor repairs will be made first.

It is funny how we all forget. When Judge Herman Thomas sent a inmate to the Prichard jail he was kicked of the bench. Where is justice?

No there all on welfare!

Prichard may be apart of Mobile County but you know, no one in Prichard pays taxes.

Now thumpper, you know better than to bring common sense to a wkrg message board.  It makes the conspiracy theorists look bad…....

Metro Jail is a Mobile County Jail not a City of Mobile Jail.  So this is Mobile County tax payers money and Prichard is a part of Mobile County.

Why does Mobile tax payers always have to pick up Prichards mess?

They need to house the members of the Water and Sewer board there
