Mobile police arrested a teenager for two armed robberies in a four day span.

Police say 17-year-old Gevonte Burnett ordered a pizza on July 15. When the delivery driver arrived at the Pearson Park Apartments on Carol Plantation Road in Theodore, police say Burnett pulled out a gun and robbed the driver.

Then on Saturday, police say Burnett walked into the Theodore Laundry and Cleaners on Katherine Hankins Drive armed with a gun and demanded money. Officers canvassed the area and were able to locate apprehend Burnett.

Burnett was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery First Degree.

Guess it did little good to put a iron fence around Pearson Park.  When the criminals are within the apartments itself! Good thing he didn’t decided to pull the trigger over a few bucks..because I know a pizza man nor a laundry mat isn’t a place I’d rob for what little money they have.. When are these young folks going to learn you have to W O R K for what you want! It should be mandatory for young folks to work. Shoot at 15 I was begging the school to give me permission to go to work at a fastfood chain. I was ready to earn my money to spend on what I wanted.  Mama didnt’ just hand everything to us on a silver platter and Im only 33 so it wasnt that long ago!

Good idea, Hitler.

I’ll say this once more because I think this is a very good idea. I think as soon as someone is found guilty of a gun crime they should immediately be taken out back and shot. Do not sit in prison for years, do not have the opportunity to tell your parents you are sorry, nothing! Just taken out back and shot. Straight from the court house to the morgue. I bet that would greatly reduce the gun crimes. Their victims never get extra time, and think of all the money that would save. Maybe our taxes could go down, and we would have more room in prison for other criminals who would otherwise get set free.

UA19, I wasn’t saying that his parents should go to jail, cause I don’t think they should. It’s all the stupid kid’s fault. And I DON’T know the kid. I ain’t NEVER seen him in my life.

well wait4me and luvinlife
you must kno a person to say this
yes he did a bad thing a most horrible thing
i hope they giv him at least 20 yrs so he wont do more stupid stuff
i believe there is something wrong with ppl wen they do things like this but it is not our place to judge
and whoever thinks his non existent father should pay for what he did or mother who works all day to support her other 3 young daughters is ridiculous
no one but him should be hld responsible for his actions because his mother didnt tell him to do it he did it hisself and he should pay alone not hurt 4 more people who tried to help him but cant control him

I believe the child as well as his parents should be held responsible for these actions and if found guilty both should be punished.  If more parents were held accountable for there childrens actions they might pay a little more attention to what the child is doing.

I do see where you’re coming from. And the only reason I would defend my child is if he wasn’t do any wrong, But, in this case, it’s obvious the boy was wrong. Completely. My daddy told me, my brother, and my sister when we were young that if we got in trouble (like with the law), and we knew it was wrong and it was our fault, don’t call him and expect him to bail you out. Just saying. I’m not judging, but the boys parents probably were druggies and they probably didn’t raise the boy right. But then again, they could have.

Okay Luvnlife. I kinda see where you’re coming from. Here’s my point: LEAD BY EXAMPLE. If you’re a sorry behind, chances are your children are gonna be too. Don’t say you’ve done the best you can knowing full well you didn’t! Don’t LIE! If you run the streets, don’t get mad when they do also. If you’re a druggie, same applies. Another thing: the moment they do wrong by going against what you taught them (theft, armed robbery, etc.), STOP DEFENDING THEM!!!! Why would you hire a defense attorney to help your juvenile delinquent/criminal child? Sorry parents do it all the time. Am I right? See where I’m coming from??

Wgary, I ain’t sure I agree with that. True, alot of parents don’t do what they need to in raising their children, but some do. It’s up to the child to determine whether he wants to follow the rules (if any) his parents has set for him.

You know what? Throw his sorry parents in jail too! They’re the ones responsible for his incorrigible behavior! There’s only so much they’re gonna be able to exhonerate themselves from when it comes to his actions. All the trouble I’m sure he got into while he was growing up that they thought was cute? Well look at him now! I say toss their sorry behinds in jail too. One month in jail for every year of age this clown is! I think it’s high time that parents were held liable for not doing their jobs!
