Mobile Police are charging a teenager as an adult in the murder of another teenager on Christmas Eve.
Police arrested 17 year old Javoner Moorer this afternoon. Authorities believe Moorer shot and killed 18 year old Jason Milne along Alba Club Road on Christmas Eve.

According to police the two teens were acquaintances. Police won't say exactly how the two knew each other or if there was a motive for the murder.
In the meantime, Milne's sister hopes her brother's killer pays the price.
"I feel for his mother and I feel for his family members because they didn't choose this but forever they'll have a son that was a murderer or a brother or something to that effect. For them I have sympathy but for him I have none,"Said Jenny Smith, Milne's sister.
A bond hearing is set for Javoner Moorer at 8:30 Wednesday morning. He is being held at Metro Jail.

The Milne family has set up an account to help pay for Jason's funeral expenses. If you'd like to help you can do so at any Compass Bank. The account is under, 'Jenny Smith in benefit of Jason E. Milne' .

more than likely, this 17 yr old did not go and legally purchase a gun for himself and then register it…i could be wrong but, he doesn’t sound like the responsible type…probably got it from his parents… if you want to buy a gun that’s super-but, you should also be fined and jailed if your weapon that you are responsible for is used in a crime. maybe people would lock there weapons up!

A 17 year old can legally purchase a gun, maybe not a handgun like in this case, but a shotgun or rifle, therefor it seems like you shouldn’t be able to sue whoever owns the gun, because this guy can legally have one.

Anybody with any sense would run from a gun. Josh is not riting this….. All I know is that this person who took his life is also losing his. We know more than u think.

but on a different note…i agree that kids should not have such easy access to weapons! I have kids and they have been raised to respect guns. It does start at home..but the system lets us down too. Parents have no support for correcting kids today! Me, i just don’t care, I don’t beat me kids, but they know i’m not playing either.
Starts at home…...here’s a message to the Moorer Family, my heart goes out to you, but your son, brother,or whatever…i pray every night that he gets what he deserves!!! I know we’re not here to judge, but we’re also not put on earth to take an innocent life! Bible says “an eye for an eye”
KARMA!!!

josh- do yourself a favor/and the rest of us, unless you were there, then you’re in the same boat we are. NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED! and do u honestly think he turned and ran??? Jason never ran from anything or anybody.
i know you’re hurting, we all are. but the gossip has got to stop!!!!
All we can do now, is what Jason would do….smile and make em pay!!!!!!

If our local news is any indication, something has gone terribly wrong with a percentage of our youth.  Not sure what the answer is, but it is getting very depressing to read every day about another senseless crime committed by some young, stupid punk.

BamaBob and 4theKids:  You both have great points and I think there is merit to both of your ideas.  Violence does often start at home and yes kids do need to learn anger management….  It is a sad time in our society that our children are being failed by us as parents and as a result it is costing some of them their lives.

Kids do need to learn how to manage anger, but a lot of this stuff is coming straight out of their homes.  Some parents actually advocate violence as a solution and cheer it on.  Then when things go really bad they start making excuses for their poor, misunderstood children that have chosen to kill another human being.

The problem is that these kids have too much access to guns!!! if they used one of their parents guns, then their parents should be held accountable or whoever gave them a gun.how many more parents will have to bury their children before Prichard and Mobile start doing a better job with their police force? Times have changed and they need a resolution…perhaps teaching anger management and conflict resolution to kids by 5th grade…kids can’t control their anger these days and probably cry their eyes out when they get that death or life sentence.

The motive was non payment of an item being sold. He went to sell something n they did not want to pay. when he confronted them they cocked the gun he turned to run and was shot in the back.Through the heart. They left him there to die. I HOPE THIS PERSON PAYS DEARLY!!!!! I am sorry for his mother and family but i knew jason very well and he was a nice and happy person. No personal possesion is worth 2 lives. The one that died and the one that will never have a real life.
