Teacher Sex Case: Schmitz Gets 10 Years

Alabama Mobile Judge sentences the 55-year-old former Washington County teacher to 121 months in federal prison for enticing a student to have sex.

A judge sentenced Charlene Schmitz to 121 months in federal prison on both counts of enticing a former student for sex. The sentences will run concurrently, meaning she will serve 10 years and one month behind bars.

The 55-year-old, who taught at Leroy Middle School teacher, was convicted in February. She faced up to 15 years on each count.
