A spokesperson for the Mobile Police Department identified the "property" stolen from the teacher as a purse.
Investigators have not yet identified the suspects.
Thursday 2:05 p.m.
Murphy High School Principal William Smith says the victim is a science teacher. He says the robbery happened while she was gathering her belongings from her car in the South Street parking lot on campus.
The parking lot is monitored by surveillance cameras, and Smith believes the attack was caught on tape. Mobile police have not released the video.
Murphy High School has several parking lots, but Smith says he is changing where teachers park. He says starting tomorrow teachers who arrive on campus early will park in a single lot with a security guard. He also wants to add lights to the lots.
Smith insists the campus is safe, but he urges neighbors who live near Murphy High School to report any suspicious activity.
