JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi State Tax Commission is
preparing a campaign to inform retailers the state's first sales
tax-free weekend.
Consumers will not pay sales tax on clothing or footwear that
costs less than $100 on July 31 and Aug. 1. Gov. Haley Barbour
signed the bill into law earlier this month.
Tax Commission spokeswoman Kathy Waterbury says the agency is
printing brochures detailing what items are exempt and will mail
notices to businesses.
