Suspicious Package Found In Silverhill

Alabama Post Office The Alabama Bureau of Investigation determines there is nothing but clothes and paperwork inside the black suitcase. Lockdown lifted at the elemntary school.

- The Alabama Bureau of Investigation brought in a portable x-ray machine.
- Agents determined there was nothing dangerous inside the suitcase. They cut it open and found clothes and paperwork inside.
- Police believe the owner of the suitcase had just been released from the Baldwin County Jail. They're not sure why he left the suitcase behind.
- The lockdown at Silverhill elementary has been lifted.
- The post office has reopened.

Bomb squad technicians are at the post office in Silverhill, investigating a suspicious package.

Police tell News 5 that a man left a black suitcase in front of the post office. They have blocked off access to everything within two blocks of the post office. The elementary school is also under lockdown as a precaution.
