
- Mobile police have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Ricky Lett, Jr.
- Lett is no stranger to Mobile police. The mugshot you see above is from his arrest in January of 2008 on Identity Theft charges.

- According to District Attorney John Tyson, the officer fired his taser, but only one prong stuck in the suspect. The suspect then pulled the prong out, grabbed the taser and pointed it at the officer who then shot the suspect three times.
- The suspect was transported to USA Medical Center where he's undergoing surgery.

Mobile police are investigating an officer involved shooting that sent a suspect to the hospital.
According to department spokesman Chris Levy, an officer tried to pull the suspect over on Government at McVay. The suspect got of his car and ran into the wooded area behind the Raceway gas station.
During the foot chase, Levy says the suspect tried to grab the officer's taser. The officer shot the suspect. The suspect was transported to the hospital.
