TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Former Alabama and NFL quarterback Ken
Stabler will not return to the broadcast booth this season.
The 62-year-old Stabler has been on leave from his duties as the
Crimson Tide's color analyst since his arrest on a drunken-driving
charge on June 8. He was found not guilty on Wednesday by a judge
in Robertsdale.
He had been charged with DUI at least twice before.
Crimson Tide Sports Marketing general manager Jim Carabin told
The Birmingham News that Stabler's status will be reevaluated after
the season.
He said the current lineup won't change this season.
In a statement Thursday, Alabama athletic director Mal Moore
declined to speculate on Stabler's future.

What a breath of fresh air, behonest.  #1 & #4; everyone knows you go to a bar to drink!  Give us a chance to unwind, then monitor before we drive home.  Some of us are responsible adults just trying to enjoy life outside of this political jungle!!!

Yeah, keep running his mugshot and mentioning that he had 2 previous DUI’s.  HE WAS ACQUITTED OF THIS ONE.  A judge heard the evidence and ACQUITTED him of it.  This is not an Alabama, Roll Tide thing!  If our Federal, State, and Local Governments want to outlaw us from drinking and driving then be honest and do the following.
1) Don’t allow bars and restaurants that have bars to have parking lots. Taxis and Limos only
2) STATE OF ALABAMA Liquor Stores (ABC Stores) should not have parking lots (mail order only, to private individuals)
3) A “Safety Checkpoint” (We all know they’re actually DUI traps) should give a driver the chance to give up the wheel, park the car and get a ride home with a warning.  Any DUI after that warning, go to jail.
4) Put state issued, calibrated breathylizers inside bars for a nominal charge that let patrons know the deal before they leave.  Let them generate a BAC level and time of exam on a receipt in case the driver is pulled over later.
