A special election is being held Tuesday to replace a state senator who died in January.Three republicans are facing off today to fill the District 22 Senate seat formerly held by Pat Lindsay. Greg Albritton of Range, Judy Belk of Citronelle and Danny Joyner of Brewton are all on the ballot.
Polls will be open until 7:00 pm.
District 22 has over 88,000 voters and includes northern Mobile and Baldwin counties, all of Washington and Escambia counties, and parts of Conecuh, Monroe, Clarke, and Choctaw counties.
The winner will face democrat Marc Keahey in the general election.
