WASHINGTON (AP) - Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor says
she's lived on a judge's salary for 17 years, and she can, in her
words, "suffer through more of it."
Supreme Court justices make a little more than $200,000 a year.
Sotomayor was responding Thursday to questions from Republican
Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, who asked if the nominee can
continue to live on a salary that Sotomayor had earlier said was
much less than she was making in private practice.
Sotomayor said pay is a "difficult" issue for many judges, who
she said haven't received a significant raise in more than 20
years.
But Sessions pointed out that the Supreme Court salary is about
four times the size of the average family income in the nation. And
he told her that if she can't live on that, she shouldn't take the
job.

California is a harbinger for what will happen to the nation unless steps are taken to control and reduce entitlement programs and illegal Aliens.As soon as all the freebies are gone,so will all these that are looking for a free ride.You get some good workers that are illegals and pay taxes but more often than not they bring ten with them to get all the free services at our expense and some just come to get free Medical procedures and then return to their country and leave us holding the bill to pay.

California…is completely out of control.The prison system,the social services being drained by “illegals"taxes are already to high on it’s citizens and they want to tax them some more!And they are loosing places of employment that are moving some where else because they can’t afford to operate there,yea ! we need the whole country to be like this !!!

He was very, very right!  It came across like she was trying to put him in his place, but he would have no part of that agenda.

It may have gotten a little lost in the excitement, but his closing was very important.  He said he had reached his conclusions based upon long time studies, documents, etc. and never did he once give consideration to the race of those providing the end results.  It was science pure and simple.

Boxer just doesn’t get it!

Liberals do not like it when blacks actually think for themselves.  They must follow the party line, or they will be reduced to something less than relevant.  I think this guy was dead on center right in his assessment of her ignorant, biased propaganda.
