Most of the kids throwing up the sign don’t realize the danger until its too late, they’re not even violent, they just think they have to do it to fit in but, some of them are VERY SERIOUS and do have guns and it’s getting harder every day to tell the good kids from the bad ones. They principal at my sons school said they try to sneak and wear their socks a certain color or whatever way they can to “rep” their colors… those kids even have their own OFFICIAL “MEMBER PAGE” representing their colors… and it’s not just boys it’s the girls too, they think it’s cute and they’re only bringing trouble to themselves. Markel looked like a sweet kid, don’t let this happen to anymore children…Parents if you have to message TOM himself and have him take down your childs page-DO IT!

well, i can tell you that my son is their age and we live on the other side of town and this childs death is sending fear among kids way out in west mobile over this. I’m sure Markel was a good boy-who like many others that live in Toulminville, Prichard, DowntheBay, Orange Grove and even out here in West Mobile are all going around throwing up gang signs because they think it’s cool. ALMOST EVERY PICTURE of him and all of his friends on Myspace are of them throwing up TMV, PA, GROVE, and all of the other stupid signs they think make them look like they’re gangsters when they’re not…but, they are attracting gangsters and it needs to STOP before there are more deaths. My son said even at his school(nowhere near TMV or PA) kids at school who usually are proud to throw up their gang sign are now very scared because there is talk of revenge on all kids from Prichard….so Parents, LOOK at your childrens pages and make them take those pictures down and talk to them about why it isnt COOL

Such a sad, senseless crime.  One young man dead and 3 more that will spend the rest of their lives in and out of prisons.

i think that it is just stupid the boys that did it should serve suvere time in priso.They have no right to own a gun and they have no kind of respect for themselves or anyone else…
Markel Anderson was a loving a caring person that loved having fun and love making friends with each other, and this is coming from a friend and a student at Blount High School, Markel played Basketball and very much enjoyed it…
Markel didnt deserve nothing like that at all over something stupid and a hood, where is a hood going to get you in life…NOWHERE…

Coming from a Blount and a Church girl they need to be punished for everything that went down that day and they need to be punished and i have no sympathy for the boys that killed my Friend,
